INTRODUCTION
How did everything started?
Gaby and María met each other on late July, at Santa Rosa’s Community School, they both helped here in different areas to improve the educational conditions of the community. Gaby worked and lived in one community, María in a different one, only on three occasions had they met in Santa Rosa.
That day they were saying goodbye, none of them knew that the other one was coming to the school that morning.
Both were very disappointed for the lack of support they have received from the foundations they were working for when attempting to help the community, both had a lot in common as far as desires and motivation.
The kids and teachers goodbye was touching, something that will never be erased of their memories, but it was time to leave and Gaby had to take the last bus that would take her home, María walked her to the bus stop… there they talked for a few minutes, among other things Gaby explained her ideas to María and she told her about Adrián.
he possibility was starting to grow, both wanted to try it… but the bus arrived and nothing could be defined. But the seed of the possibility of doing something “good” for the environment and the rural communities had already been planted… and in a few weeks it started to sprout: Fundación Simbiosis was born.

Now, let’s talk in a more formal way:
We are a non-profit organization, registered by ministerial agreement No. 029 – 2008, R.U.C. QUE1891725929001, domiciled in El Triunfo Parish, Patate Canton, Tungurahua Province, Ecuador.
Our goal
The socio-environmental development of Ecuadorian rural communities.
To collaborate and search for solutions to the problems caused by the relationships between the communities, and their economic and environmental development.
We achieve our goals through:
- Strengthening the communities’ development with the help of volunteers.
- Supporting the educational area of the communities through the participation of volunteer teachers and by improving the school infrastructure.
- Helping with the agricultural and productive activities in the area.
- Encouraging environment-related activities by professionals in different fields of knowledge.
- Promoting environmental awareness programs.
- Developing research projects in the ecosystems of the area in order to carry out an effective preservation of the communities’ natural resources.
Our mission
To improve the quality of life in the communities, through habits, behaviors and environmental friendly development alternatives.
What we do:
We develop projects to:
- Train the population for their economic development in symbiosis with the environmental protection and bird watching development.
- Train volunteer mothers with no specific preparation and who look after the children of the daycare center.
- Elementary education and supporting boys and girls.
- Environmental education.
- Improvements in school equipment, infrastructure, libraries and recreational areas.
Our financing
Currently we don’t count on any public or private organization financing our activities. That is why; we depend on our volunteers’ contributions to carry out our projects. 
We are working on a member’s recruitment campaign for people who can make periodic annual contributions.Pincha para conocer más.
